REESE WHITE MINIS , LIFESAVERS GUMMIES SOURS and TWINKIES are all American snacks that are iconic. The most iconic of them all is TWINKIES. I had never had TWINKIES but had always seen them in American TV shows and movies and of course in every ” Trying American Snacks ” YouTube video. I always imagined TWINKIES to be a light snack cake with a sweet cream in the centre . LIFESAVERS are very popular and common candies in North America. As I am not a candy or gummie person I had never tried the Lifesavers Gummies Sours before. Wanting and trying to broaden my taste buds I decided to give them a try. The Lifesavers Gummies Sours comes in 5 fruity flavours. REESE WHITE MINIS has been intriguing me for a while now. We don’t get the regular sizes REESE’S WHITE CUPS here in Canada but somehow we get the mini version. I had been wanting to try the REESE’S WHITE MINIS for a very long time and finally got my hands on it.

For this Canada Day I decided to showcase and try some of the less typical but iconic Canadian snack foods and candies all the while giving a couple of the typical Canadian favourites their due respect. Kit Kat Gold , Kit Kat Matcha Green Tea , Kit Kat Ruby , Kit Kat Chunky Cookie Dough , Kit Kat Ice Cream Bar are all fairly new KIT KAT varieties in Canada. Kit Kat Gold is a variation that uses caramelized white chocolate as its wafer coating. Kit kat Gold became available first in Australia , UK and New Zealand a while back. Kit Kat Matcha Green Tea is very much Japanese inspired and was first exclusively available in Japan. In Canada we get a big 4 finger bar version of the Matcha Green Tea Kit Kat . Ruby chocolate was brought into the consumers market 3 or 4 years ago by Nestle first as a new chocolate variety added to the already existing White , Milk and Dark chocolate line. Its a pink natural coloured treat with a very unique flavour that Nestle has used to make its Kit Kat Ruby with. Kit Kat Chunky is a chunky one finger version of the bar that comes in different varieties. I tried the ” NEW ” Kit kat Chunky Cookie Dough bar. This was the milk chocolate Kit kat Chunky with a cookie dough filling and the usual wafer layers. This was very familiar to me and I believe it used to be available in Canada a few years back and I think I had tried a long time ago. Nestle Kit Kat ice Cream bar ( Frozen Dessert Bar ) is a fairly new ice cream treat that came out a few months ago. The ice cream is half vanilla and half chocolate and the bar is covered with a crunchy layer of chocolate coating and also wafer bits and pieces.

LINDT DOUBLE MILK chocolate bar , KIT KAT GOLD bar , HERSHEYS COOKIES N MINT CANDY BAR , HERSHEYS BIRTHDAY CAKE CANDY BAR , CADBURY DAIRY MILK PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE milk chocolate bar are the exciting candy bars and snacks I bought this week. The Hersheys Cookies N Mint and the Hersheys Birthday cake candy bars are variations of the Hersheys Cookies N Creme candy bar with flavors inspired by ice cream flavours minus the cold cream of ice cream. Even the design of the bars has a cute hint of ice cream on it. The Lindt Double Milk bar has been one of my all time favourite candy chocolate bars for the past few years. The milky centre filling reminds me of condensed milk and asian milk candies somewhat. Being that Im not a huge fan of Caramel I had never tried Gold Chocolate like the Hersheys Gold Bar so when I saw that Nestle has released a Kit Kat Gold in Canada I finally decided to try it out. The description on the package of the Kit kat Gold describes it as Caramelized White chocolate. In Canada we get a few selection of Cadbury Dairy Milk products but I believe they are originally from Britain. I like peanut butter and chocolate paired together so when I found the Cadbury Dairy Milk peanut Butter Cookie milk chocolate bar I grabbed it right away and couldnt wait to sink my teeth into it and let my tastebuds be hugged by a delicious chocolate and peanut butter sensation !!!

NESTLE COFFEE CRISP is a classic Canadian chocolate candy bar. It consists of a long wafer centre and layers of cream enrobed in and covered by milk chocolate. The Coffee crisp bar promises to be a light snack that tastes like coffee. Within the past few years Nestle has expanded its Coffee Crisp line to include a variety of different products. They have now come out with Nestle Coffee Crisp Easter Hide Me Eggs and a Nestle Coffee Crisp Ice Cream Bar ( Frozen Dessert Bar ) . I decided to put all three in a head to head competition to see which has a stronger and better coffee flavour.

Im not really much of a breakfast cereal person but have always wanted to try some of the more fun and sugary ones if they were ever available in smaller boxes. TWIZZLERS GUMMIES TANGY TONGUE TWISTERS , NUTTER BUTTER , KRAFT HAZELNUT SPREAD WITH COCOA are all interesting and tantalizing to my tastebuds when I think about them. Nutter Butter and Twizzlers Gummies Tangy Twisters are American treats and Nutella and Kraft Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa are both European treats. Kraft Chocolate Hazelnut Spread is very new and made in Belgium. I decided to try and taste test the Nutter Butter , the Twizzlers Gummies Tangy Tongue Twisters and the Kraft Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa individually. Since I always have a jar Nutella around I also decided to do a head to head food comparison between it and the Kraft hazelnut Spread with Cocoa. But the most fun was when I decided to do a Food Mash Up with the Nutter Butter , Nutella, Kraft Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa and the Twizzlers Gummies Tangy Tongue Twisters all together !!!

NESTLE KIT KAT MATCHA GREEN TEA ICE CREAM , JOLLY RANCHER FRUITY SOURS GUMMIES , REESE PUFFS PEANUT BUTTER and COCOA CEREAL BARS are all new snacks to me. Ive had the original Jolly Rancher hard candies and liked the blue raspberry flavour the best. Ive also tried the Nestle Matcha Green Tea Kit Kat bar that are made in Canada but had never had the ice cream version of it. Ive had a few Reese ( or Reese’s ) varieties and the peanut Butter cup has always been too salty for my liking but a few of the other varieties ive liked a lot. So I was very optimistic and excited to try the Reese Puffs Peanut Butter and Cocoa Cereal Bars.

COFFEE CRISP is a chocolate covered wafer bar that is very popular in Canada. It also comes in a Easter Egg format and once in a while in special flavour chocolate bars. We all know what a banana split dessert is and what to expect from its flavour so when I saw the Presidents Choice Banana Split Ice Cream bars, being a fan of banana flavoured sweets, I was very excited to try it out.
